This is a link to the Wikipedia site which shows how the town was named, population statistics from the 2010 and 2000 censuses as well as the town’s history with the Monon Train Line. This site also shows what schools are in the area at the elementary, jr. high and high school levels.

There is information on the summer Monon Food Fest which takes place the first Saturday in June at the Monon Park. Festivities begin the night before with events all over town including a concert at the fire department. There is also a car show during this festival which include antique, vintage, muscle and other types of cars. This event attracts vendors from across our area as well as from neighboring states. There are live concerts held throughout the day and activities for all ages.

Also located about 3 miles north of town is The Whistle Stop/The Monon Connection. This is a train museum which is open to the public year-round.
